Louisiana’s 2013 rice crop is late in growth and development, says Johnny Saichuk, LSU AgCenter rice specialist. Cool weather is being blamed.
It is not known if the cool weather and slow growth will reduce Louisiana’s rice yield. The crop needs a dry June without extremely high temperatures, says Saichuk.
