USA Rice Federation has elected Paul “Jackie” Loewer Jr. to be its chairman.

Loewer, a rice farmer from Branch, La., is chairman of the Louisiana Rice Producers’ Group. He is past chairman of the USA Rice Producers’ Group.


“Jackie is a well-known and highly respected leader within the rice industry, and will serve the USA Rice membership well,” said USA Rice Producers’ Group Chairman Frank Rehermann in making the nomination at the Federation board of directors meeting.


Loewer was elected unanimously. He will serve a two-year term beginning Aug. 1.
