Saturday, Aug. 1, is the deadline for entries to the National Corn Growers Association's popular National Corn Yield Contest, one of the most popular programs for farmers for more than four decades. Entries must be postmarked or submitted online no later than that date, and the online entry form is now fully functional for interested growers.

State and national corn yield contest winners will receive national recognition in publications, such as the NCYC Corn Yield Guide and at the National Awards Banquet and State Awards Breakfast at the 2010 Commodity Classic in Anaheim, Calif. More importantly, growers experience the challenge and satisfaction of learning production techniques that will enhance their corn yields.
