California Rice Commission holds seminar in Turkey

The California Rice Commission (CRC) sponsored a self-funded trade seminar here last week for rice packers and supermarket managers responsible for purchasing rice.

The event included a presentation, a documentary about Calrose rice and information about the Calrose crop given by Michael Rue, chairman of the CRC International Marketing and Promotion Committee. The program also featured presentations from partnering organizations such as the Turkish Rice Millers Association and the Turkish Packers Association.

Since 2003, CRC has worked closely with rice packers and traders in Turkey to encourage packers to use the "100 percent California Calrose" seal to ensure the highest-quality rice will be placed on the shelves.
