The percentage of rice emerged is 93 percent, 2 percentage points below the five-year average, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Crop Progress Report issued today. With 75 percent of California's rice crop emerged, 90 percent is reported in good-to-excellent condition. For all rice states, 58 percent of the rice crop is in good or excellent condition.
