California Secretary of Food and Agriculture Karen Ross will headline this week's 33rd annual California Small Farm Conference, a series of educational webinars, videos and online forums that begins today, Feb. 22.

Hosted by the Community Alliance for Family Farmers (CAFF), this year’s virtual conference will run until Feb. 28 and feature farmers, ranchers, industry professionals, students, and local food advocates digging into topics of soil health and small-farm marketing, according to a CDFA blog post.

Ross will join the “Meet the Ag Policymakers” panel on Thursday afternoon, Feb. 25. In addition, CDFA Direct Marketing Program officials will discuss new regulations affecting certified farmers’ markets during the “Farmers’ Market Manager Training” session this morning.

Visit the Small Farm Conference website for more information and to register for workshops, most of which are free.
