Pull-Type Sprayer

When used on about 5,000 acres/year, the Field-Pro 1200 pull-type sprayer costs as little as $1.13/acre to own, according to Bestway, Hiawatha, KS.

Booms are available in 60' and 80' widths and are teamed with a 1,200-gallon tank to cover up to 75 acres/hour.

The sprayer also features hydraulic accumulator boom suspension and an optional wide axle, adjustable from 120" to 144".

Chisel Plow The 5850 chisel plow offers improved field finish, residue distribution and durability, according to Case IH.

Shanks have been redesigned for improved reliability and durability. The entry angle of the new shanks has been reduced by 50%, and the wing angle of the sweeps is 33% lower, decreasing horsepower requirements and better preventing soil erosion. Automatic self-leveling hitches are standard. Optional floating hitches have caster wheels that work with the mainframe walking beam wheels, allowing the plow to hug the ground.

Application Manager The Raven AMS 200 from Raven Industries, Wahpeton, ND, is a multipurpose precision ag tool that can perform data logging, variable-rate controlling and scouting functions with one console.

Variable rate control data is gathered by connecting to any existing Raven control system. Interface capabilities from popular software packages let the user compare field prescriptions to as-applied data.

Moisture Tester The MoistureMatch grain moisture tester from Farmex, Streetsboro, OH, allows users to match their grain elevators' specific commercial testers more precisely.

It's the only moisture tester to be programmed with grain scale data derived from lab-test comparisons with leading commercial testers.

The user can select from five options: Motomco 919 or 919E, Dickey-John GAC 2000 Series, Labtronics or Industry Standard.

Other features include a built-in carrying strap, large graphic LCD with online user instructions, easy-on cap and a computer interface for future upgrades.

Harrow Exactly matched to the Tiger-Mate II field cultivator, the Tiger-Tine harrow from Case IH creates smooth, level fields by evenly distributing soil and residue.

A flexible design keeps the unit level from front to back and side to side, and prevents skips and gouges over terraces and through draws.

Parallel Tracking The Parallel Tracking display from John Deere allows operators to apply chemical day or night without worrying about skips or overlaps.

The display, when used with the StarFire position receiver and GPS signals, shows the operator his exact position in the field relative to a straight path that is determined with a first pass. It uses a simple icon and audible beeps.
