Real-view guidance

TWO NEW guidance displays from TeeJet Technologies offer multiple video capabilities, including a guidance-over-video option that displays a real-time image of the field ahead.

The new consoles are the Matrix 570G 5.7-in. display and the Matrix 840G, whose 8.4-in. display offers more than twice the viewing area of the smaller unit. Both touch-screen displays include an integral WAAS-accuracy GPS antenna, a built-in lightbar, a USB port for data export and software upgrades, and a RAM bracket for easy mounting.

As an alternative to the internal GPS, the units can be connected to real-time kinematic (RTK) receivers via a standard serial connection. The consoles also are compatible with TeeJet FieldPilot assisted steering systems, which are available for more than 270 tractors, as well as TeeJet BoomPilot section controllers.

The Matrix 570G features a bright, 400-nit screen for viewing under tough lighting conditions. It can display video from up to four TeeJet RealView or AgCam video cameras, which use compatible plugs. The waterproof, dustproof cameras include infrared LEDs to improve video quality at night. Cameras come standard with durable RAM mounts.

The 600-nit, high-resolution Matrix 840G console can display video from up to eight cameras one at a time on the full screen or by toggling between two split-screen four-camera views.

Both consoles feature multiple guidance modes, including straight AB, curved AB, circle pivot and a last-pass mode that provides guidance adjacent to any previous pass. When used to define a field perimeter, it automatically creates a no-spray zone.

Maps can be exported in several formats, including shape files, ready-made pdf reports or kml files, which can be used to view coverage data using Google Earth.

The suggested list price for the Matrix 570G with a single RealView camera is $1,835, and $7,200 with a FieldPilot steering system. A Matrix 840G with a single camera lists for $2,465, and $7,800 with a FieldPilot system. Additional cameras list for $300.
