Media events offer a company the chance to share more than one or two new products, they offer insight into a range of issues happening at a company. For DuPont Pioneer the list is long, from sustainability efforts aimed at reducing the company's carbon footprint, to new products in the seed pipeline, there's a lot happening in Johnston, Iowa.

This gallery attempts to round up a lot of what we got a look at recently including some new tech for corn, interesting developments for soybeans and advancements on the forage side as well. Steve Reno, vice president, business director, DuPont Pioneer for the United States and Canada, talked about the challenges facing the industry.

DuPont Pioneer surveyed farmers to learn more about what they want. Reno notes that corn producers are looking ahead.

"In the last few years we've increased the average yield to near 170 bushels per acre," he says. "Farmers are telling us that over the next three years the want that number to rise to 200 bushels per acre. That's 30 bushels in three years."

Whether the goal can be achieved, Reno says it will take a multi-pronged approach including better hybrids, improved management of nitrogen, phosphorus and potash, and the use of advanced technology including variable rate applications. "And we're seeing similar responses from soybean producers," Reno says. "Growers are demanding bigger and bigger yields, but they want to be more holistic and they're seeking whole-farm solutions. That includes herbicide, fungicide, insecticide, management."

And DuPont is stepping up to the plate. Check out the gallery to learn more about the tools the company is bringing forward for 2015 and beyond.
