Registration is open for the first Cowboys for Conservation Trail Ride, a fundraiser for Ranchland Trust of Kansas (RTK).
Allison Land and Cattle, owned by Kevin and Carrie Allison, will sponsor and host the June 19 inaugural event at the ranch, near Eureka, Kan.
This fun and interactive three-hour trail ride is for adult riders ages 18 and older. Riders are welcome to bring their own horses.
Riders will break into groups and hear from Luke Westerman, Natural Resources Conservation Service district conservationist; Vickie Cikanek, NRCS district wildlife biologist; and Dale Kirkham, a grazing management expert.
Registration is $99 and includes lunch. The registration fee is a tax-deductible donation to RTK. To register, visit the RTK Trail Ride webpage.
RTK is an affiliate of the Kansas Livestock Association. It works in cooperative agreement with voluntary ranchers and conservation partners to create perpetual conservation easements. To date, RTK and its partners hold 20 conservation easements totaling more than 14,000 acres conserved for agricultural use for future generations.
