Yuba City prune grower Matt Bozzo says his 2017 prune harvest could have wound up much differently than it did given the record rains and heavy floods that inundated his orchards last winter.

Bozzo finished harvesting his crop in early September after a long stretch of blistering heat that also had an impact on his crop.

Crop yields looked to be about three tons per acre, he says. This followed a year where yields were severely reduced due to devastating winter weather during the all-important bloom period.
