NYBOT announces Sept. 11 schedule

The delayed pre-opening will occur at 1 p.m. EST and the opening rotation is scheduled to begin at 1:05 p.m. because of later openings for the sugar, coffee, cocoa and currency index futures. Trading in cotton futures will close at the regular time of 3 p.m.

Although the former NYBOT trading floor was located in another building of the New York Port Authority Complex than the World Trade Center Towers, the building, World Trade Center 4, was so heavily damaged in the Sept. 11 attacks that the NYBOT was forced to move to a temporary location.

The Minneapolis Grain Exchange (MGEX) also announced it would observe a minute of silence on its trading floor at 9:29 a.m. in recognition of the first anniversary of the events that occurred on Sept. 11.
