Extra-Density Baler Packs More Mass In Same Space

Agco introduces Hesston by Massey Ferguson XD square baler.

Producers who want to pack extra density into large square bales for transportation of biomass or more efficient transportation will find what they’re looking for in the Hesston by Massey Ferguson 2170XD Large Square Baler, introduced by Agco on Aug. 9.

The baler creates 3x4-foot bales up to 9 feet long with 15% more weight than the standard 2170 baler and 30% more than the MF2170 balers sold before model year 2010.

MORE WEIGHT: The Hesston by Massey Ferguson 2170XD is built tougher to pack bales tighter.

A redesigned flywheel is 91% heavier to help create a denser bale with smooth operation. The gearbox is larger and stronger and the new Category 7 primary and secondary drivelines have heat-treated yokes to withstand the greater pressure. Bearings and plungers have also been beefed up.
