Massey Ferguson has unveiled its new seven-member 500 Series utility tractor with new looks and new engineering features for the 44 to 85 horsepower range.

Power for the 500s include Perkins diesel engines, with 3-cylinder models on the 533, 543, and 563, and 4-cylinders driving the 573, 583, 593 and 596 tractors.

The 500 Series is built on a wider platform for added heat shields and more operator room and an improved cab boasts additional window glass, a built-in HVAC control in the ceiling and a redesigned dash panel housing warning lights, instruments and a digital hour meter.

Larger 500 series machines have 35% more fuel capacity and ground-level fueling convenience.

All 500s feature power steering and adjustable, spring-suspension seats.

Transmission options include: An 8X2 sliding gear unit with eight forward speeds and two reverse, with two slow gears, four fieldwork gears and two transport gears. An 8X8 synchronized shuttle gear box offers convenience for repetitive work such as loading. Cab models and 593 and 596 platforms feature a 12X4 partially synchronized transmission with four slow gears, five fieldwork speeds and three transport gears. Four of the 500 Series models are available with a factory-installed creeper option.

Hydraulics on the new models are rated for category I and II and 3-point hitches, with lift capacity up to 4,200 lbs. on the larger models. Live and independent PTO is standard. Remote hydraulics are standard on all but optional on the 533.

All models are available in 4WD or 2WD.

Massey Ferguson offers a line of accessories for each of the 500 Series models using the Quick-Attach System.
