The new Caterpillar D Series compact loader line will include six new models replacing the B3, C and C3 series predecessors. Operating capacity - based on a 50% tipping load - ranges from 2,800-pounds to 4,650 pounds. Mid-size frame models as narrow as 66-inches include the 257D Multi-terrain loader and the 259D Compact Track loader Larger frame models include the 277D and 287D MTL and the 279D and 289D CTL. Tier 4 final power is available from an electronically controlled 3.3 liter engine.

That Cat 3.3B engine offers 74 hp with 8% more torque and 6% better fuel economy that previous models. Operator comfort is still the key though including improved cab visibility, an optional rear camera that can be factory installed - an industry first.

In the cab, buyers have three seat options - basic, air-ride with a higher back and even a heated seat option. And all air-ride sides feature independent arm bar/joystick control adjustments so the machine can be configured for a wider range of operator sizes. Standard control monitor offers single-code security to prevent theft too. The Advanced Display Control can even save operator preferences for each user - which allows you to tune the machine for specific operator skill levels.
