New Holland redesigns big baler

New Holland's new big square baler, Model BB900, features an efficient in-line design and wide 92-inch pickup width to produce large-capacity, high-density square bales.

Because of the baler's in-line design, there is less leaf loss because crop flows in a straight line, allowing the feeder to capture loose leaves and put them into the bale.

The BBG900 replaces the New Holland Model 585 baler. This re-designed, heavy-duty baler comes with a choice of two bale chamber sizes. It can make 16 by 22 or 15 by 22 bales. A reliable, four-cylinder Deutz diesel engine delivers plenty of power for high-capacity baling.

The rotary feeder produces dense, well-shaped bales in all crops without the need for adjustments or optional equipment. Four-way bale tension provides consistent bale density and shape over a wide range of crops and bale conditions.

A heavy-duty SuperSweep pickup has the widest tine-to-tine measurement in the industry, and is ideal for wide or uneven windrows. Self-contained hydraulics provide fingertip control for tongue shift, pickup lift and bale density — no matter what tow vehicle is being used.

The BB900 is equipped with large flotation tires to reduce soil compaction and minimize crop scuffing. The baler also features a high-capacity electrical system that runs up to eight work lights for nighttime baling.
