This year's Ag Ambassador grew up on a dairy farm and has spent his life working in the industry.

Roger Scheibe, Brookings, S.D., has been named the 2018 Governor’s Ag Ambassador Award recipient. Scheibe grew up on a dairy farm near Wolsey, South Dakota, and earned a B.S. in dairy science and manufacturing from South Dakota State University.

DAIRY LEADER: Roger Scheibe has had a long career in the dairy industry.

Scheibe has worked as a dairy farmer, a dairy inspector, a director of dairy development programs for South Dakota and an agricultural lender for First Bank and Trust. From 2009 until his retirement in 2017, he served as industry relations manager for the Midwest Dairy Association in South Dakota, as well as the executive director of the South Dakota Dairy Producers Association.

"His passion has helped to shape the future of the dairy industry and agriculture in South Dakota."
