Many past winners were in attendance to recognize these award winners, along with the Iowa Master Farmer Association production scholarships, which were awarded to Spencer Collins of Adel and Madalyn Palmer of Waukon.

The program started in the morning with presentations by Kevin Studer, Iowa Corn director of federal policy; Grant Menke, Iowa deputy secretary of agriculture; and Mark Heckman, ethanol services director at EcoEngineers and an Iowa farmer. Each discussed important issues facing Iowa’s farmers.

Following lunch, Terry Branstad, former U.S. Ambassador to China, told of his path from Iowa governor to the ambassadorship in China, and how he always had Iowa farmers top of mind.
