MSU names Koger soybean specialist

Mississippi State University's Extension Service has named Trey Koger as the state specialist to assist Mississippi's soybean growers.

Koger most recently served at MSU's Delta Research and Extension Center in Stoneville, Miss., where he operated cotton research programs.

His new job responsibilities will include coordinating educational programs for soybeans and other oilseed crops.

Koger will be responsible for providing statewide program leadership that supports and strengthens the work of other specialists, scientists, county agents and producers, said Michael Collins, department head of plant and soil sciences.

He will work closely with industry representatives to promote technology transfer and the adoption of best management practices. Koger also assumes responsibility for the S.M.A.R.T. program.

Koger will maintain offices at the Delta Research and Extension Center in Stoneville and on campus in Starkville.
