Meetings to help range management decisions in wake of fires

Ranchers needing information to help make important management decisions due to losses from recent fires have a several educational opportunities, according to Texas Cooperative Extension officials.

"After the Wildfire: Livestock and Range Recovery" will be the topic of meetings offered in seven locations. Extension, in partnership with the U.S. Department of Agriculture-Natural Resource Conservation Service and the Farm Service Agency, will conduct the educational sessions throughout the Panhandle for the rest of March.

"If you have been affected by a wildfire, we encourage you to attend one of these meetings," said Bob Robinson, Extension regional program director for agriculture and natural resources.

Meetings are scheduled as follows:

* March 22, 9 a.m., Amarillo National Bank-Borger, Third Floor Rig Room, 301 W. 6 St., Borger;

* March 23, 9 a.m., Gray County Annex meeting room, 12125 E. Frederic, Pampa;

* March 23, 2 p.m., First Baptist Church, 206 West 2 St., New Mobeetie;

* March 23, 7 p.m., Family Life Center, 300 S. Carhart, Clarendon;

* March 28, 9 a.m., Miami Community Center, 103 Main St., Miami;

* March 29, 8 a.m., Childress City Auditorium Foyer Room, City Park, Childress; and

* March 29, 11 a.m., Bura Handley Community Building, Club Room, 10th and Amarillo streets, Wellington.
