Max Armstrong talks about protests, flood damage in downtown Milwaukee, wheat crop and motorcycle crashes.

As you look across our region, quite a few popular shopping and dining spots remain closed even in states largely reopened after COVID-19 stay-at-home orders have expired. For example, the popular Country Club Plaza in Kansas City is shuttered amid days of protest following killing of George Floyd in Minneapolis.

You know there's been a lot of talk about out-of-towners being involved in the protests in recent days. This isn't always the case. In Fort Wayne, Indiana, for example, of the some 90 arrested in two days, most were from Fort Wayne and surrounding communities. Almost all were males, ages 22 to 26.

Downtown Milwaukee is a great place to visit. They are tallying damages from heavy rains last month. Steam tunnels were damaged by tidal wave of water. Cost to repair is more than $10 million.

About 94% of Kansas wheat crop was heading as of last week.

Warmer weather has brought on a rash of motorcycle crashes.
