It's National Farm Safety and Health week, originally signed into observance by President Roosevelt in 1944. We continue to recognize the importance of farmers, and safety, is, particularly during this pandemic. Professor John Schutske, director, University of Wisconsin Center for Farm Safety and Health, says that farming is the nation's most dangerous occupation, where the fatality rate is seven times higher than other jobs. And those farm deaths impact and ripple through the community.
