Mexico is one of the largest importers of American ag products. Last week, Mexico President Claudia Sheinbaum introduced a plan to reduce the nations reliance on imported food. She wants to “produce what we eat” by increasing production in corn, beans and rice. The approach draws from the previous president.

If the policies succeed, it could impact U.S. trade, particularly for corn. Ag policy in Mexico is an important topic for U.S. farmers to watch.
