Max Armstrong discusses the safrinha corn crop in Brazil, which is getting more attention. This “second planting” of corn is now a popular purchase item for Chinese buyers. The crop goes in after soybeans are harvested. The safrinha crop represents 70 to 75% of the country’s corn crop each year, and for 2023 may top 96 million metric tons. This would the largest corn crop in Brazil’s history.
Max Armstrong's Farm Progress America is a daily look at key issues in agriculture. It is produced and presented by Max Armstrong, veteran farm broadcaster and host of This Week in Agribusiness.
