Max Armstrong has a friend in rural Indiana who started locking his doors. In the area, there was a heinous crime, as has happened in many rural communities lately. The Wall Street Journal has pointed out that rural crime rates have soared during the pandemic. Homicide rates went up 25% in 2020 along, according to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention. The 2021 rate hasn't been analyzed yet.
