Max Armstrong shares a new income source for dairy farms – renewable natural gas

December 17, 2020

Max Armstrong looks at a new use for methane from the farm, an issue Max has covered for 20 years. But the market is changing and methane-produced electricity from the farm lost value. However theres a new use turning that methane into renewable natural gas that can be consumed by the transportation market. The key is cleaning up that gas and putting it into a pipeline. Max shares insight on this issue where dairies in Wisconsin and Vermont are getting the benefit.

Wisconsin Agriculturist editor Fran O'Leary discussed the Wisconsin project on a recent episode of the Around Farm Progress Podcast. Give it a listen too.

Farm Progress America is a daily look at key issues in agriculture. It is produced and presented by Max Armstrong, veteran farm broadcaster and host of This Week in Agribusiness.
