April 21, 2021

Max Armstrong looks at the roots of the environmental movement which he says started in farm country with the creation of several programs in the 1930s. Max details the range of programs to manage water, soil, and forests through USDA. They believed creation of soil conservation districts at the local level would accelerate change. The first district was set up in North Carolina.

Farm Progress America is a daily look at key issues in agriculture. It is produced and presented by Max Armstrong, veteran farm broadcaster and host of This Week in Agribusiness.
