Larry and Virginia Kepley of Ulysses, Kan., are one of the six couples who have been named to the 2021 class of Kansas Master Farmers and Farm Homemakers.
Now retired, both have used their teaching backgrounds to promote food and agriculture over the past 61 years. Larry Kepley was a leader in promoting the white wheat industry in Kansas and around the globe. Virginia Kepley worked as a home economics teacher and then as a program facilitator for gifted students. She also used her background to develop a curriculum for Ag in the Classroom, teaching area fifth- and sixth-grade students about trees, using the family orchard at the farm.
