In 2006 Iowa Master Farmer Association members began discussing publishing a book detailing the history of the Master Farmer award program since 1926. The Iowa Master Farmer Foundation published a book titled “The Iowa Master Farmer Award” in 2007.

The book is compiled by decades. A brief description of the agricultural situation at the time leads off each decade. Each section reproduces stories of the award recipients during that decade as they appeared in Wallaces Farmer magazine at the time the farmers received the award. The book covers award recipients through 2007.

Following are the stories of award recipients since 2008 as they appeared in Wallaces Farmer.

A few hard copies of the Iowa Master Farmer Award book are still available. Contact rod.swoboda@farmpress.com for availability and pricing.
