Not even COVID-19 can keep Minnesota dairy farmers from celebrating June as Dairy Month.

Last year and again this June, county dairy associations thought of innovative ways to connect with consumers and share dairy’s story. They offered drive-through dairy options, such as the June 5 on-farm event hosted by Stearns County Breakfast on the Farm. Others held dairy celebrations for consumers at county fairgrounds. That’s what Steele County dairy farmers are doing again. On June 19-20, they will be hosting a dairy event at the fairgrounds in Owatonna. Learn more at facebook.com/steelecountydairyfarmers.

This was Stearns County’s 13th annual Breakfast on the Farm. The free event included a drive-through tour of Kerfeld Hill-View Farm north of Melrose. The three-generation family milks 280 cows, raises 275 heifers and farms 500 acres of crops. They also use robotic milkers and calf feeders.
