The government shutdown means USDA may not be issuing reports. The agency is publishing Market News Service reports including export inspections. 

The soybean market is focused on Argentina, where there was dry weather over the weekend. The question is whether or not Brazil will be able to offset the smaller Argentine crop. 

Basis had been plagued by lower water levels and ice, but the ice is melting and water levels are rising. Basis for corn generally strengthened last week and soybean basis is a little better, but widely varied.
