Both the corn and soybean harvest are behind the four-year average.

Corn harvest

As of Nov. 11, 84% percent of the corn crop planted has been harvested. That’s three points below the four-year average of 87%.

In the top five corn producing states, Illinois has the most completed with 96%. Kansas (89%); Minnesota (87%) and Iowa (83%) are closing in. While, Nebraska is struggling with 77% completion.

Soybean harvest

In the soybean fields, the crop progress report shows 88% of the harvest is completed. That is 5 points below the four-year average of 93%.

In the top five soybean producing states, Illinois is leading the way with 96% completion. Minnesota farmers report 87% of the soybeans harvested followed by Iowa (83%), Nebraska (77%) and North Dakota (62%).
