The California Raisin Administrative Committee (RAC) will meet next Tuesday (Aug. 24) with USDA officials to discuss modifying the federal marketing order.

RAC Chairman Chris Gunlund said the meeting will start at 2 p.m. at the RAC’s offices in Fresno.

RAC members have been analyzing the raisin marketing order for more than a year to evaluate ways to modernize and simplify the marketing order.

Scheduled to attend the public meeting from USDA are Robert Keeney, deputy administrator of fruit and vegetable programs; Michael Durando, branch chief of the marketing order administrative branch; and Kevin Kesecker, senior economist.
