Growers, processors, marketers, suppliers, and others interested in the fruit and vegetable industry are invited to participate in “Breaking New Ground” at the 23rd Annual Southeast Vegetable and Fruit Expo in the Myrtle Beach, S.C., Convention Center, Tuesday and Wednesday, Dec. 2-3, 2008.

Sponsored by the South Carolina Fruit, Vegetable, and Specialty Crop Association (SCFVSCA) and the North Carolina Vegetable Growers Association (NCFGA), the 2008 Expo will feature qualified professionals who will get ‘down and dirty’ with others in the industry on a variety of topics related to fruit and vegetable production, marketing, diseases and pests, and food safety.

Full registration for the two-day event and the trade show is $70 for the first participant and $40 for each additional participant. Registration for educators, county agents, and other state and federal government personnel is $50 for the two-day event. Single day registration for Tuesday is $40, Wednesday is $30, and daily entrance to the trade show is $15.

Everyone attending the Expo must be registered. Entrance to the trade show will be by official Expo name badge. The trade show will remain open continuously throughout the event. Courses are approved for Continuing Education Credits (CCA) and Continuing Pesticide Recertification Credits.

To ensure reduced room rates and availability, hotel reservations must be made before Nov. 14, 2008 with the Sheraton Myrtle Beach Convention Center Hotel.
