A quarter section of land within a half mile of the city limits of Sioux Falls sold for $8,800 per acre. The land is currently being farmed but is in the path of future residential development to the southwest of the city. Only about 139 acres of the tract was tillable. The rest was lowland, trees, roads, a dugout and former building site. About 3 acres had been classified as wetland. Approximately 307 acres in Minnehaha County sold for $8,400 per acre. About 300 acres were tillable with the balance in waterways and low areas.
