Circle Jan. 6 on your calendar. The Purdue Top Farmer Conference is back, and this year, it’s in-person, but there is still an option to attend virtually if that works for you.

“We want everyone to have a chance to attend because we have an excellent program planned,” says Jim Mintert, director of the Purdue Center for Commercial Agriculture. The conference will unfold live at the Beck Ag Center at the Purdue Agronomy Center for Research and Education, or you can join virtually from your home or office. In 2021 and 2022, the program was virtual only.

Mintert says this year’s conference focuses on key topics affecting your farm business in 2023 and beyond. They include an outlook on interest rates and how the uptick in rates will impact your management decisions. You also will learn how experts analyze trends concerning future land values and prices for used farm machinery. Speakers will address fertilizer price outlooks, pinpointing drivers for fertilizer and other input costs in the coming months. Lastly, Mintert and other ag economists will weigh in with a look at corn and soybean prices going forward.

“I hope you will join us in person, but if you can’t, there will be an option to join remotely for one of the best conferences of the winter meeting season,” Mintert says.
