Over the years, I’ve had many frustrations with data collection from multiple sources, systems and equipment. Climate FieldView™ simplifies the way I view and share data with my agronomist, so that we can make informed decisions throughout the season. With features like nitrogen monitoring and field health imagery, available in Climate FieldView™ Pro, I can quickly identify and address issues in the field on my iPad® from wherever I am. When I can, I like to walk across my fields to scout for problem areas, but our fields are spread out over many miles, and sometimes it’s just not possible. With the field health satellite images I receive through Climate FieldView I can identify issues early on and prioritize my scouting efforts. That information can also help me identify pest or disease pressure and take action before it affects my yield at the end of the season.

The nitrogen monitoring tool has really helped us fine-tune our nitrogen program. With so much variability across our fields, I can create custom scenarios for each field to account for differences in organic matter, soil type and other factors that affect nitrogen availability. Last year, our nitrogen graphs showed that we could apply less than our original plan and still meet our target yield. I was skeptical, so we applied our planned amount but left test strips with the nitrogen amount we determined using insights from Climate FieldView. It turns out the strips hit the same yield as the rest of our fields. We could’ve saved about $25 per acre in nitrogen costs, and that adds up quickly.

Climate FieldView has given us the tools we need to pull insights from our field data—we didn’t have that in the past. With those insights I’m able to make economic decisions that are more profitable for my farm.
