In Financial assistance is available for containment plans, Delta Farm Press Editor Elton Robinson provided several links to help farmers implement an Oil Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure Plan.

The Environmental Protection Agency has a new page on its SPCC Rule site: SPCC for Agriculture.

Another site, developed by National Cotton Council’s Technical Services staff — http://www.cotton.org/tech/safety/oilsp.cfm — provides additional details to help farmers.

Nov. 10 is the date for owners of a SPCC-regulated facility or farm to prepare or amend and implement an SPCC Plan.

Farms and gins in operation on or before Aug. 16, 2002, must maintain or amend their existing plans by Nov. 10.

Farms and gins in operation after Aug. 16, 2002, but before Nov. 11, 2011, must prepare and use a plan on or before Nov. 10.
