An Agricultural Financial Professionals Workshop will be held Dec. 12, 2018 in Griffis Hall on the Mississippi State University campus.

It will feature presentations and discussions on the current farm financial situation pertaining to row crops, specialty crops, forestry, and livestock, plus agricultural loans, lending, land values and cash rents, and farm programs and policy.

According to Dr. Josh Maples, assistant professor of agricultural economics, there will also be presentations about updates to Crop Production Budgets plus tariffs and trade.

The event will begin at 8:00 a.m. with registration/breakfast snacks/coffee. Scheduled presentations include “Loans, lending, and banking risk” and “Mississippi land values and rents,” both by Dr. Bryon Parman; “Farm programs and policy,” by Dr. Keith Coble “Specialty crops outlook,” by Dr. Elizabeth Canales.
 
“Poultry outlook,” by Dr. Tom Tabler; lunch keynote presentation by Dr. Gary Jackson, director of Mississippi Extension; “Forestry outlook,” by Marc Measells; “Beef and dairy cattle outlook,” by Dr. Josh Maples; “Crop production budgets update,” by Gail Gillis.
 
“Soybeans, corn, and cotton outlook,” by Dr. Maples; and “Tariffs and trade discussion,” by Drs. Coble and Maples.
