Mississippi State University will host row-crop producers for a conference dedicated to Mississippi Delta agriculture.

The Delta Crop Summit will be Nov. 13 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at MSU’s Delta Research and Extension Center in Stoneville.

Registration for the free event begins at 7:30 a.m. in the lobby of the Charles W. Capps Jr. Entrepreneurial Center.

Researchers from both the MSU Extension Service and the Mississippi Agricultural and Forestry Experiment Station and crop specialists from across the Southeast will give row-crop updates. DuPont Pioneer will supply refreshments. A catfish luncheon will be served.

“We are excited to host this crop summit,” said Steve Martin, head of the Delta Research and Extension Center. “Scientists will discuss issues such as weather, water, irrigation, herbicides, plant pathology and others that have been especially important to crop production in 2012.”

Certified crop advisors can sign up for continuing education units at the registration desk.
