Mississippi Women for Agriculture will hold its annual meeting March 9-10 at the Bost Conference Center on the Mississippi State University campus.

“Ours is a statewide organization aimed at unifying women from all farm and commodity groups and organizations into a cohesive group to celebrate, promote, and lobby for agriculture in our state,” says Sylvia Clark, Calhoun County Farm Bureau Women’s chair.

“We are partnering with Mississippi State University and the Alcorn State University Extension Services to empower farm women to be better business partners and/or farm managers, while learning how to acquire and organize important financial documents,” she says.

“The educational classes and workshops will cover everything from net worth statements and farm/family budgets to lessons on how to form an effective plan to transition a farm to the next generation.”

The organization also offers Mississippi farm women the opportunity “to form friendships, share ideas, and develop new ways to make their production agriculture farms and agribusinesses more profitable,” Clark says.

Information about the conference and registration details may be obtained by telephoning her at (662) 325-1801 or (662) 983-0232.
