USDA NASS report says average cropland prices are up 10% compared to 2021.

Minnesota's farm real estate value, a measurement of the value of all land and buildings on farms, averaged $6,150 per acre in 2022, according to the USDA National Agricultural Statistics Service Land Values 2022 Summary.

This was up 17%, $910 per acre higher than last year's value.

Cropland, at $6,200 per acre, was $930 higher than last year, or 18%. Pasture, at $2,010 per acre, was $180 above last year, or 10%.

Cropland cash rent paid to Minnesota landlords in 2022 averaged $185 per acre, according to the USDA NASS.

In its Aug. 5 Cash Rent and Land Values report, nonirrigated cropland rent averaged $185 per acre, $8 above last year.

Irrigated cropland rent averaged $200 per acre, $13 above 2021.

Pasture rented for cash averaged $27 per acre, $1 above the previous year.

The U.S. farm real estate value, a measurement of the value of all land and buildings on farms, averaged $3,800 per acre for 2022, up $420 per acre, or 12%, from 2021. The U.S. cropland value averaged $5,050 per acre, an increase of $630 per acre, or 14%, from the previous year. The U.S. pasture value averaged $1,650 per acre, an increase of $170 per acre, or 11%, from 2021.
