Texas AgriLife Extension Service’s Llano Estacado Cotton Conference is set for Jan. 21 in the Bailey County Coliseum, 2206 W. American Blvd., Muleshoe.

Registration will begin at 8 a.m. and the program will start at 8:30 a.m. The conference is sponsored by AgriLife Extension in Bailey, Parmer, Lamb and Castro counties.

This year’s conference will address regional and county-wide cotton projects, variety selection, pest management, weed management, irrigation management and a cotton market update.

Organizers said the program will allow ample time for attendees to interact with AgriLife Extension personnel, industry representatives and other growers. They will also be able to visit commercial exhibits throughout the day.

Five Texas Department of Agriculture continuing education units will be available to private, commercial and non-commercial pesticide applicators who attend the conference.

Individual registration is $15 payable at the door. The fee includes lunch, educational materials and access to commercial exhibits.

For more information contact Curtis Preston, AgriLife Extension agent in Bailey County, or Monti Vandiver, AgriLife Extension integrated pest management agent for Parmer and Bailey counties, at 806-272-4583.
