An upcoming webinar titled “Improving Conversations With Your Lender” will outline and explain the banking benchmarks and financial documents lenders need from farmers to evaluate loans. Available via the Internet, this webinar will provide time at the end for questions from the audience.

“Aimed for dairy farmers, this program is hosted by I-29 Moo University,” says Fred Hall, Iowa State University Extension dairy specialist. “Although it’s aimed for dairy producers, there is useful financial management information in this webinar that’s applicable to other farmers, too. It’s free, but preregistration is required. The webinar is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 20, and will last for one hour.”

In addition, the program will focus on improving enterprise expense breakdowns and identify available follow-up information.

Heather Gessner, a South Dakota State University Extension livestock business management field specialist, will present the information. Gessner grew up on a diversified operation raising cattle and hogs, as well as corn, soybeans, oats and alfalfa. Since joining SDSU Extension in 2001, she has earned a national reputation providing farmers and ranchers with enterprise analysis, budget spreadsheets, marketing education, and estate and transition planning, education and assistance.
