Iowa Soil Management and Land Valuation Conference Will Mark 83 Years

This year will be the 83rd annual meeting; the conference is for people who have an interest in farmland and it will take place May 19 on ISU campus at Ames.

The Soil Management and Land Valuation Conference will celebrate its 83rd annual meeting on May 19, 2010 at the Scheman Building at Iowa State University in Ames. This one-day event is the longest running conference on the Iowa State University campus.  

The conference will provide updated information for farm managers, rural appraisers, real estate brokers, lenders and others who have an interest in Iowa farmland. Conference participants are eligible for six hours of continuing education credit for renewal of a real estate and broker's license. This conference also has been approved for six hours of continuing education for Iowa Appraisal License renewal.

Registration fee for the event is less if you register before May 10

This year the SMLVC will focus on the general economic conditions in the morning sessions and land transfer between generations in the afternoon sessions. In addition, speakers will be providing updates on the grain markets, legislation of interest to landowners and the weather outlook.

The ISU College of Agriculture and Life Sciences and ISU Extension sponsor the Soil Management and Land Valuation Conference.
