The American Society of Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers will bring land investors and fund managers together with farm managers, rural appraisers and agricultural consultants at the AgroNomics — Vision 2012 Conference in Phoenix, Ariz., Oct. 24-28.

The event, being held in conjunction with the 82nd annual meeting of ASFMRA at the Pointe Hilton Tapatio Cliffs Resort, will feature training and program sessions, education courses, networking opportunities and an industry trade show.

An increased interest among national and international investors and fund managers to acquire U.S. farm land inspired the development of the AgroNomics Conference. “There is so much that the members of ASFMRA can offer those who are investing in or looking to invest in farm land,” said conference chair, Jeff Berg, ARA. “We can provide the expertise needed for them to be the most responsible stewards for the dollars invested.”

Event organizers have built a program with select industry speakers who will address the many facets involved with farm land investing. Larry Stenberg, grain leader with Dow AgroSciences, is scheduled to open the conference with his presentation on “An Economic Outlook for U.S. Agriculture in 2011 and Beyond.”

Other speakers include David Kruse from Grupo Iowa, Jerry Davis with the New Orleans Employees Retirement Fund, James McCandless of UBS Agrivest, LLC, Richard Brockmeyer from Wine Industry Investment Consulting, Jennifer Shaw from Syngenta, and Robert Fraley from Monsanto. Topics range from opportunities for investors, managers, valuers and consultants to international investing and ag investment due diligence.
