Philip Bradshaw, an Illinois soybean grower from Griggsville, was elected to the United Soybean Board Executive Committee during the organization's recent annual meeting. He also was appointed chairman of the USB Communications Committee and the Animal Agriculture Initiative. Bradshaw is a long-time soybean advocate, who has served the industry in a variety of positions.

"I am pleased to serve the soybean industry in this capacity," says Bradshaw, who was re-appointed by the USDA Secretary in September to fill an additional three-year term. "Checkoff funds are invested in animal feed and human food uses, industrial uses that include biodiesel and key research projects that help improve our profitability. I look forward to providing input to the executive committee from an Illinois perspective."

Three other soybean growers represent Illinois on the board as well. Sharon Covert, Tiskilwa, will serve on the International Marketing Committee; Ken Dalenberg, Mansfield, will serve on the Production Committee; and Larry Lewis, Ursa, will serve on the Communications Committee.
