Highly desirable river frontage along with good outbuildings and infrastructure helped bring in top dollar for 652 acres of Edwards County land that sold at auction on Oct. 20.

The property sold in six tracts with Tract 4 consisting of about 56 acres of fenced grassland with a mile of river frontage along the Arkansas River with a 70x40 machine shed, 50x40, 70x50, and 60x40 storage sheds and steel corrals was the top tract with a selling price of $4,185 per acre.

Tract 1, about 160 acres of dry cropland planted to milo, brought $2,050 per acre, while tract 2, about 80 acres of dry cropland in wheat stubble was bid in at $1,970 per acre. Tract 3 was about 80 acres of dry cropland in wheat stubble and brought $1,950 per acre.

Tract 5, about 248 acres of dry and irrigated cropland with a pivot system in place brought $2,300 per acre while the final tract, about 30 acres of dry cropland, brought $1,100 per acre.

The seller was the Leroy Gier Estate. Carr Auction and Real Estate of Larned handled the sale.

In another Edwards County sale on Oct. 19, about 160 acres of dry cropland was sold at auction for a price of $2,400 per acre. The seller of that property was Gale E. Britton. Carr also handled that sale.

Barton County
About 160 acres of Barton County land was sold at auction on Oct. 23. The property was all dry cropland with 91 acres in wheat stubble that had already been sprayed since harvest. The balance of the land is in retired Conservation Reserve Program grass.

The parcel was sold for $1,075 per acre. Richard Deckert and Lynette Kornelson were the sellers. Carr Auction and Real Estate handled the sale.

In another sale, about 160 acres of Barton County cropland was sold at auction on Aug. 24. The land brought $1,750 per acre. The seller was Plugi. Midwest Land and Home of Washington handled the sale.

Stafford County
About 316 acres of Stafford County land was sold at auction on Oct. 24. The property sold in two tracts. Tract 1, about 156 acres with 99 acres in cropland and 53in pasture with the balance in waterways, sold for $820 per acre. Tract 2, about 160 acres with 24 in cropland and 132 in pasture and the balance in roads and waterways, sold for $1,200 per acre.

The seller was the Luella M. Dale estate. Carr Auction and Real Estate handled the sale.

Grant County
About 160 acres of Grant County land was sold in a private land auction that closed on Sept. 7. The highly productive cropland was planted to grow cotton at the time of the sale. The property brought $795 per acre. The seller was Jennings. Farmers National Company handled the sale.

Decatur County
About 160 acres of cropland and grass in Decatur County were sold at auction on Oct. 12. The small pasture on the property is watered from the adjacent property. The land brought $1,625 per acre. The sellers of the quarter-section were James and Diane Barrett. Farm and Ranch Realty o Colby handled the sale.

Cheyenne County
About 160 acres of cropland and CRP was sold at auction on Oct. 13. Mineral rights are believed to be intact and the seller’s interest transferred to the buyer. The quarter-section has 97 acres of cropland and the balance in CRP. It sold for $1,175 per acre. The seller was the Gerdes Family. Farm and Ranch Realty handled the sale.

Marshall County
Three tracts of excellent Marshall County cropland were sold at auction on Oct. 28. The three tracts, totaling 540 acres, were sold together and brought $4,152 per acre. CRW Ranch was the seller.

In another sale, about 320 acres of Marshall County land was sold in a private treaty sale that closed on Aug. 16. The property, about half in pasture and half in cropland, was sold for $890,000 or $2,781.25 per acre. The seller was Zanko.

Midwest Land and Home of Washington handled both sales.

McPherson County
About 425 acres of good quality cropland in McPherson County was sold at auction on Sept. 23. The property was sold in four tracts. Tracts 1 and 2, about 288 acres, were sold together and brought $3,245 per acre. Tracts 3 and 4, about 137 acres, were bid in at $2,665 per acre. The seller was LLZ, LLC. Midwest handled the sale.

Dickinson County
About 142 acres of Dickinson County land was sold in two tracts in an Oct. 14 auction. The property included cropland with river frontage and trees. The two tracts sold together to a single buyer and brought $3,331 per acre. The seller was Cregan. Midwest Land and Home handled the sale.

Washington County
Midwest Land and Home handled two farmland sales in Washington County. On Oct. 21, a tract of 152 acres was sold for $4,474 per acre. Beikman was the seller.

In another auction on Nov. 2, about 614 acres of land in Washington County was sold in four tracts. Tract 1, about 78 acres of clean cropland, brought $4,231 per acre. Tract 2, about 156 acres half in cropland and half in pasture, brought $3,237 per acre. Tract 3, about 140 acres with 113 acres in cropland and 27 acres in pasture, brought $2,821 per acre. The final tract, about 240 acres with 127 acres in cropland and the balance in pasture, brought $2,717 per acre. The seller was Flear.

Rush County
About 160 acres of Rush County land was sold at auction on Oct. 26. The seller retained all mineral rights. The property sold in a single tract for $1,006.25 per acre. The seller was Bolson. Midwest Land and Home handled the sale.
