Arizona Farm Bureau members (farmers and ranchers) are responding to the immediate needs of ranchers and their livestock in Arizona areas devastated by wildfires.

Yuma-area farmers are sending several truckloads of hay for livestock feeding to the Springerville, Greer, and Eager areas. Buckeye farmers are sending hay to the Blue, Ariz. area.

Hay and other donations will help with the immediate needs for displaced livestock. There will be long-term needs brought on the impact of the fires.

Some ranchers in burn areas around the state lost all of their pastures to fire. Livestock that would normally move to summer pastures now have nowhere to go and will need hay throughout the summer.

The livestock may need to be kept on pastures that would normally be recovering for winter grazing – necessitating hay feeding during the winter months.

The Arizona Farm Bureau is accepting donations for livestock assistance. Checks payable to “Arizona Farm Bureau” can be mailed to: Arizona Farm Bureau, 325 South Higley Road, Suite 210, Gilbert, Ariz. 85296.

Write “fire relief donation” on the memo line. Donations are not tax deductible.
