Growers, crop consultants, and other specialists in the agricultural industry looking for scientifically based, pest management research and educational information have access to a new journal published by the Entomological Society of America.

The Journal of Integrated Pest Management contains peer-reviewed articles written specifically to the general public. The publication covers all pest management disciplines, including entomology, nematology, plant pathology, weed science and other issues. The journal is divided into three categories: insect profiles, emerging IPM issues, and pest management recommendations.

The journal can be accessed at http://esa.publisher.ingentaconnect.com/content/esa/jipm. The inaugural issue, published in October, contains an article on Western bean cutworm, written by Ohio State University Extension entomologist Andy Michel.

The Entomological Society of America (ESA) is the largest organization in the world serving the professional and scientific needs of entomologists and people in related disciplines. Founded in 1889, ESA today has more than 6,000 members affiliated with educational institutions, health agencies, private industry, and government. Members are researchers, teachers, extension service personnel, administrators, marketing representatives, research technicians, consultants, students, and hobbyists.
